The Old Dairy House A self catering holiday cottage

This Dorset holiday cottage , ‘Old Dairy House’, has well thought-out accommodation and excellent facilities for 8 (+ more) people.

Downstairs there are four main rooms: a kitchen, a dining room, a hall/study area and a sitting room. The kitchen has fridge/freezer, double electric oven with a grill, microwave, dishwasher, CD/tape/radio, and table and chairs. It has a walk-in larder with ample storage and aids to cooking such as electric mixers. Behind the kitchen is a small lobby with a downstairs toilet, washbasin and shower room off it.
	The dining room seats 8-10, and has a piano. A high chair is available. Doors lead to the outside, to the kitchen and on to the hall/sitting room.
The flagstoned hall area which has a large open fireplace and wood-burning stove, two sofas and chairs. The stairs lead up to the bedrooms. There is a telephone for outgoing and incoming calls, at normal domestic rates.
	The oak-floored main sitting room has comfortable sofas and chairs (including a 4ft 6in sofa bed), and an open fireplace with a wood-burning stove. There is a colour TV with Sky, video recorder and CD player.
Upstairs there is: a double bedroom with super king-sized bed a double bedroom with king-sized bed two twin bedrooms, each with two 3ft single beds two single mattresses, a double aero air bed and a travel cot if required bathroom with Victorian bath, washbasin, separate shower and WC shower room with shower, washbasin and WC floor to ceiling bookshelves with family books Bedding is provided for all the beds, but not for the spare mattresses, sofa bed or cot. Please bring these, plus extra towels if you need them. Towels and bath mats are routinely provided for eight people only.

The laundry (complete with washing machine, tumble drier, iron, ironing board and sink) is in a separate room at the end of the garage. There is ample parking for five cars in the drive.

Outside this Dorset holiday cottage, is about an acre of garden. This overlooks the bird reserve and neighbouring farm, with distant views of Poole Harbour. With deer-proof fencing and gates, the garden is a secure place for children to play. There is a patio area (we love having meals outside in the summer) with tables and chairs, sun beds and sun umbrellas, and both a gas and a charcoal barbecue. For the young at heart there is a garden swing and a small slide.
