	Dorset Accommodation The Old Dairy House A self catering holiday cottage
	Welcome		Arne, Near Wareham, Dorset

The Old Dairy House is a Dorset self-catering holiday cottage situated in the tiny settlement of Arne, near Wareham, in the ‘Isle of Purbeck’. It is on the western side of Poole Harbour. Close to beaches, to the RSPB bird reserve at Arne, to Corfe Castle and to Swanage, this area of Purbeck, Dorset, offers plenty to see and do.

The self catering cottage provides comfortable holiday accommodation for 8-10 people and has a wonderful garden of nearly an acre. We employ a house minder and part-time gardener to ensure the highest standards. Many of our clients return year after year as they so enjoy the house, and the beauty and tranquility of the area.

Now a Dorset holiday cottage, it was built around 1560-1600. It has a fascinating history, serving as a dairy nearly up to the Second World War. It was partially rebuilt in the 1950's after war damage, when Arne played a role as a decoy. Since we bought this Dorset accommodation we have substantially improved it, providing modern facilities while maintaining and restoring the character and feel of the place.

Before we owned this Dorset holiday cottage, it was let for several years through English Country Cottages. This was how we came to stay in it, and fall in love with it. We bought it with our elder daughter and her husband in 1994. They live in Australia, so we look after it for them and the other family members who enjoy it, and we make it available for letting, as a self catering cottage, commercially.
